Estate Planning

Your family depends on you to shelter and protect them, but they also depend on you to make sure they're protected even when you're no longer with them.

Wills which provide for education, real estate transfer, asset protection and trusts can assure that your family doesn't have to fend off debt collectors, tax assessors and other distractions at a time when they're weakest.

We'll guide you through the process and help you to make the right choices for your family's needs.

We'll also help you create Living Wills which may guide your family in making important choices which affect you when you're not able to make your wishes clear.

If you were to die without a Will:

bulletthere would be no direction given to your relatives as to how you want your money and property to be distributed;
bulletif you have children under the age of 18, no one has been named as guardian;
bulletmuch or all of your estate could be consumed by legal actions and taxes;
bulletif you do not have close relatives, your money and property could be taken by the State.

There are many other things that could happen if you die without a Will. You should not put your loved ones in the position of having to discover what those things could be.

If the value of your estate exceeds a certain amount at the time of your death, estate taxes could eat up a lot of the money that you want to pass on to others. You can do certain things now that could avoid payment of those taxes.

You may also wish to create a Living Will. If you do not know what a Living Will is you should consult with your doctor and contact us.

Representation in domestic cases does not revolve solely around knowledge of the law. Though the firm's knowledge of the law is strong, its partners all have an understanding and an empathy for the emotional difficulties suffered by those in any domestic matter-should it be child custody, support, alimony, equitable distribution or the less contested areas such as adoption.
